The importance of blog charts

Morgue Gallery Screenshot

We are pleased to announce that a blog we manage is number 8 in the Technorati charts for Arts and in the top 100 for Living today.

Writing blog content that gets linked to and is quoted in other blogs is one of the best ways to market your business. Blog charts are the barometer to measure the success of your website / blog against. These charts aid search engine position placement, they add weight to your kudos and influence your page ranking in search engines.  A  popular blog is a successful blog.

The working class are poor

Wages have fallen more in real terms during the current economic downturn than ever before, according to a report.

One third of workers who stayed in the same job saw a wage cut or freeze between 2010 and 2011, said the Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS).

The figures from Scotland’s chief statistician also showed there had been a fall in the average household earnings in Scotland. Within the last two years, incomes have gone from an average of £461 per week to £436. BBC

With the economic situation most households need two incomes to sustain raising a family. Caring for children at home can be a full time job in itself. The only real possibilities for the stay at home carer are to either get part time work (which usually means working late at night) working from home or starting a business.

Seven out of 10 mums would rather stay at home with their children than go to work, according to a survey of mothers carried out by the website netmums. But for most, that’s just not possible. In fact, just taking maternity leave can rock a household’s finances, let alone leaving work entirely.  A uSwitch survey showed that nearly three new mums in 10 end up in debt because of their maternity leave, while more than one in 10 cut their time off work short because of financial pressures.  Yahoo

Makeup of a business opportunity

A business opportunity consists of four integrated elements all of which are to be present within the same timeframe (window of opportunity) and most often within the same domain or geographical location, before it can be claimed as a business opportunity. These four elements are:

  • A need
  • The means to fulfill the need
  • A method to apply the means to fulfill the need and;
  • A method to benefit

With anyone of the elements missing, a business opportunity may be developed, by finding the missing element. The more unique the combination of the elements, the more unique the business opportunity. The more control an institution (or individual) has over the elements, the better they are positioned to exploit the opportunity and become a niche market leader.
